INTERACT researchers help company with stadium lighting installation
Several researchers of the INTERACT project (“Integrative Research in Environment, Agro-Chains and Technology”) were, over the month of January, at the San Mamés stadium, in Bilbao, Spain, to support a Portuguese company in the installation of the lighting of the venue.
The contacts followed the work done throughout the project by researchers Alexandre Gonçalves, Cátia Brito, Lia Dinis, José Moutinho Pereira and Carlos Correia.
This is the second time that the researchers are going to the Spanish city. According to the researcher Alexandre Gonçalves, this participation consists in “assisting in the implementation of a LED lighting solution”, allowing, at the same time, “the maintenance of a high quality lawn” and “an efficient use of electric energy”. The work is being done in partnership with the portuguese company Loki and the spanish Andled.
Along with the INTERACT researchers, Ermelinda Silva, student of the doctoral program Agrichains, was also involved in this participation.
Besides being involved in the INTERACT project, the researchers are part of the Laboratory of Plant Physiology of the Centre for the Research and Technology of Agro-Environmental and Biological Sciences (CITAB) of the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro, working “in collaboration with several companies”. This is a way of “carrying out the mission of our institution” by transferring knowledge to “the Portuguese business fabric in the implementation of specialized projects in Portugal and abroad”, the researcher said.
